Radiation Safety Program

The Radiation Safety Program at Mercer University provides:
1.   Administrative and technical support for authorized users of radioactive materials in the university research community.
2.   Management of the Mercer University Radioactive Materials License for the purpose of maintaining compliance with the State of Georgia, Department of Natural Resources (DNR),Environmental Protection Division (EPD), rules and regulations for the possession and use of radioactive materials.

Radioactive Materials License 

The Radioactive Materials License (GA 475-1) for the Corporation of Mercer University is a Specific Limited License authorized by the State of Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR).

The license is available for inspection at:

Environmental, Health & Safety Office (EHSO), Macon Campus

Radiation Safety Office, School of Medicine, Macon Campus

Radiation Safety Office, College of Pharmacy, Atlanta Campus

The Rules and Regulations for Radioactive Materials (Chapter 391-3-17) of the State of Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Environmental Protection Division (DNR-EPD) is available online.
